A firearms magazine manufacturer approached Spiros in need of a wire form for a firearm magazine, specifically for an AR-platform.
Challenge
Manufacture a magazine spring to keep the follower level during all operational positions.
Action Steps
Spiros was able to schedule machine time to allow both the customer’s engineers and Spiros’ engineer to run multiple spring samples, and make live changes and adjustments while sampling the assembly at the machine. Spiros Industries also teamed with the magazine manufacturer to re-create how the loads were tested, and Spiros’ R&D built a testing station equivalent to the magazine manufacturer’s for apples-to-apples testing.
Result
The magazine manufacturer was able to move excessive testing to just one incoming sample and their end product was achieved. With Spiros’ robust quality program, this customer is confident they will receive correct and consistent parts every time.
